Todd Brunson gives some back & Poker Dream in trouble?

Todd Brunson is one of my favorite poker pros. He plays solid poker whether he's in a tournament or grinding it out in the big cash games he likes so much. Todd never gets too fancy, even when the TV cameras are covering his play. He sticks to his game. To me, that's the sign of a true pro.

Todd Brunson doesn't feel like he has to live up to his father's reputation either. He's proven that he's his own man. Doyle must be very proud of his son.

Another thing I admire about Todd is his willingness to give back to the community. In March Todd is hosting a charity poker event to benefit Camp Okizu, a retreat for children with cancer. The tournament is a $300 buy-in No Limit Holdem event and takes place on March 8 in Santa Clara, California.

The tournament is open to the public so if you're a decent poker player and would like to support this worthy cause, get out there and play. Todd is giving away autograped photos of himself while supplies last.

Other poker celebrities attending the event include; Hoyt Corkins, Cyndy Violette and Mark Sief. Matt Savage will be the MC for the tournament.

Todd represents Doyles Room, a US friendly poker site named after the legend himself, Doyle Brunson. Play online against Todd, Doyle and other famous pros at Doyles Room. Read our review of Doyles Room here.

The online poker world is still rebounding from the Absolute Poker super user scandal and the allegations of similar cheating at Ultimate Bet (owned by Absolute). Added to these scandals was the recent collapse of the DGS Poker Network. Now we have rumors of yet another site going down the tubes. Poker Dream, a US friendly network, appears to be in the midst of collapse. The network has locked out all their "skin" owners and closed it's forum. It appears imminent that the site is doomed. I have a couple hundred bucks sitting on the network, I guess it'll be gone forever... I'll keep you posted as new developments surface.
