Gambling Affiliates Union_

Press Release:

Announcing the creation of the Gambling Affiliates Union!

The Gambling Affiliates Union (GAU) is a new organization dedicated to fighting for affiliates rights. The role of the Gambling Affiliates Union will be first and foremost as an arbitration service between union members and affiliate programs.

The GAU will also take on all affiliate programs that include the following clause in their terms and conditions (affiliate contracts):
“we reserve the right to change these terms at any time”
According to GAU founder Paul White, this term would never stand up in a court of law and has no business being included in any affiliate agreement. "For this reason, we intend to fight to have this clause removed from all contracts".

The Gambling Affiliates union will act in unison with other groups and associations to protect it's members from unfair treatment by the online gambling affiliate programs. The GAU already has the support of the Affiliate Guard Dog (AGD), the Gambling Portal Webmasters Association (GPWA) and the Association of Players, Casinos, and Webmasters (APCW).

Affiliates expect and deserve to be treated fairly and with honesty. The GAU will focus on the challenges that face Affiliates today including Term and Condition changes, Timely Payments, Tracking and Reporting, Praise and Appreciation, Ethical Accountability and other issues of importance.

Although the Gambling Affiliates Union is not designed to protect players interests, it does recognize that the industry requires proper player protection to thrive and will consider player protection as an important objective in the interest of affiliates.

Arbitration
The Gambling Affiliates Union will represent any gambling affiliate that is a member of the GAU and enter into arbitration with any gambling programs, whether recognised as friend or foe by the GAU.

Whether your issue is large or small the GAU will attempt to form a resolution suitable to both parties, with the GAU members welfare first and foremost.

If arbitration fails and the GAU deems the programs to be acting unfairly or not in the manner which relates to how the program professes to do business, then the GAU will prepare a report.

This report will be published for members perusal and a poll will be initiated. Once this poll has concluded and an agreed course of action has been made the GAU will publish the results and ask members to act accordingly.

If you require any form of arbitration at any time please contact the GAU.

Arbitration may take many forms and may not always be concluded as fast as the GAU would like, however, all measures available to the GAU for a speedy resolution will be implemented.

Membership
Membership to the GAU is open to affiliates, affiliate managers and program staff.

Membership is currently free during the establishment of the GAU, however, the GAU will eventually have a monthly membership fee. This membership fee will be set annually by the membership, however, initially will be $3 per month or $30 per year for affiliates and $6 per month or $60 per year for programs and affiliate managers.

Membership will allow you to vote in GAU member voting issues and give you access to GAU support and arbitration.

The GAU uses the membership fees to cover operational costs and staff wages, it allows the GAU to be free of sponsorship from programs, thus disallowing them the chance to use financial leverage to force the GAU to not pursue issues against them unlike other organisations within the industry.

As the GAU is committed to fighting for transparency, honesty and a fair market place for gambling affiliates, the GAU will not deny any affiliate membership on financial grounds. Therefore, if there is any reason why a potential member cannot pay the membership fees, the Gambling Affiliates Union will allow membership free of charge. Please contact the GAU if you have a question regarding this.

PIC Club - A new deposit method for US players

Pic Club is the newest deposit method for American players. This is a brand new concept and apparently makes depositing funds into casino and poker accounts legal. The concept is a bit complicated and there has been quite a bit of discussion in the forums as to whether Pic Club is a safe option for US players.

We have been discussing Pic Club over at APCW and to our surprise, Chuck Kidd (founder of Pic Club) dropped by to answer our questions.

The following is Mr Kidd's response to our comments....

My name is Chuck Kidd and I am the CEO and Founder of PIC-Club. My friends call me CharlieK so lets keep it on that level.

The idea for PIC-Club was conceived just 1 week after the UIEGA was passed when I read the new law and found that they had excluded trading companies. See they can't turn of Charles Schwab, E F Hutton or the Chicago Commodity exchange from using the wire services to transfer money. So with a little help and encouragement from a group of poker playing friends I bought a trading company and PIC-Club was born. The company that owns PIC-Club is Ledvil International a fully licensed and authorized trading company. We just happen to be the only one that ever thought of trading in poker.

I first introduced at this idea at a Poker Conference in Dec. 2006 in Costa Rica. It was well received by some and others found it silly. One man that didn't find it silly was a speaker at the conference and happens to be one of the foremost legal minds in this industry. He was impressed with the idea and it was with his words of encouragement that I pressed on.

After obtaining good legal council and getting the opinion of all 50 states laws as they pertain to online poker, PIC-Club was launched on April 22. 2007 with one poker room willing to give us a try and help us develop this unique concept in gaming.

I have controlled the growth of PIC-Club very carefully as we are dealing in your money. As a poker player I remember the frustrations of deposits being lost and customer service being useless. I vowed to make PIC-Club the dominant force in the industry for processing your funds into and out of a poker room in a manner never used before and doing it in a safe, secure and accountable way.

We are a CLUB; when you join you add to our strength in numbers, we are over 5000 strong and growing. This gives us some bargaining power to obtain the best deals for you at the poker rooms. The poker rooms have always had the upper hand, as there was never a reason to stop doing business as usual. Well the PIC-Club is changing how poker rooms do business with the players.

I read in this forum a concern about our fees. Let me assure you that PIC-Club makes no money from the players. We only charge the cost of processing to our members. If it cost PIC-Club 5% to process a credit card, that is what we charge you. Our company makes its money from the poker room every time you deposit your money into your playing account.

While we are on the subject of money let me address our CSA (common shares account). This is an account that all members of PIC contribute to. This is your money not ours, it sets in a bank collecting 3.5% guaranteed interest. $1.00 from every deposit goes into this account. We also deduct .05% of winning withdrawals from a member and add it to this fund. Last year in December PIC-Club added 6.8% to the total CSA pool. That means that PIC-Club members at Christmas time received 14% on those dollars. Easy math there, $1.00 in $1.14 out. Heck even the worst donk in the world who lost every hand he ever played that year made money from PIC-Club if he was a member. You tell me what other processor offers this.

We are growing, getting stronger every day. With the BetCris family of poker rooms joining us and the Merge Gaming Network now live at the PIC-Club, we service over 50 rooms. Everleaf Gaming, home of Poker4ever and their 35 rooms have just joined us and will be live very soon. If your favorite room isn't using PIC-Club why not drop them an email and tell them to wake up.

I will stop by from time to time to answer any questions you may have and you are also welcome to stop by the PIC-Club and ask our customer support for help on any issue. Just so you know, our customer support is made up of online poker players working from their homes as they help you. If you have read any of the online forums you will have seen from the postings that our 24/7 support team is world class.
I'm still on the fence as far as the legality of such a club but, it seems to be a viable alternative for those in the States.

Here's the link for those who want to check out their website.

Bernt Erik Hansen Clears the Air About PokerDream

Bernt Erik Hansen posted on APCW forum today after being contacted by one of the skin owners. The following is a direct quote:

"My name is Bernt Erik Hansen and I was the investor behind PD. I was locked out of PD over 1 year ago by John after funding PD with over $ 300.000,- witch I have recit for. John after locked me out, acted as the one and only owner of PD. He has also stolen $ 46.000,- from Kim Ulriksen."

Hansen also left contact information so we could follow up with him.

Recent News

European News
Sweden's Prosecution Authority has been ordered to halt prosecutions against Swedish media companies who accept advertising from Internet gambling sites. The decision follows an appeals court ruling that found Swedish lottery laws were possibly in contradiction with the European Court Pact.

PokerDream Update
In the weeks since the Poker Dream network's collapse many of the affected players and webmasters have been working hand in hand with Jay Todd and APCW to track down PokerDream's owners and our cash.

Thanks to Jay's "Perspectives Weekly" video and the publicity we've been able to generate, John Dutchak and Dave McCann have both come forward and contacted us.

John Dutchak is believed to be the owner/founder of PokerDream although he denies the claim and insists he was merely a software designer and programmer. We know for certain he was the front man and main contact person since the very beginning.

Dave McCann was apparently acting as host and administrator of the site for the final couple months but he claims the owners never paid him for his services. He also stated that he does not know who he was working for. Pretty weak story Dave...

Dutchak claims; "I was the lead software developer of the PokerDream site I am NOT the owner. The site was created in late 2005 and in 2006, the site is owned by 2 people from Norway named Bernt Erik Hansen and Jens Lausten. Bernt Erik is the majority owner."

So far, even though our investigation has progressed rapidly to this point, we are left with even more questions and very few answers.

We'll continue the search for the truth and as always, I'll keep you posted on our progress.
