A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I spent the weekend at Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls, Canada. Fallsview is home of the annual WPT North American Championship. We stayed at the Hilton, right across the street from the casino. Our 29th floor room had a stunning view of the casino and both the American falls and Horseshoe falls.
We were in Niagara for the Canadian Poker Meet-up hosted by 888.com and the Poker Affiliate Program. 888 flew three staffers in from Israel to pamper the 30 or so affiliates who attended.
Dee and her 888.com team did a splendid job looking after us. They treated us all to a voyage under the falls on "Maid of the Mist", hosted a private tournament with some awesome prizes and an open bar, and fed us a nice breakfast on Saturday.
PAP administrators, Jeremy and Graham, along with their wives, were also awesome. They kept things very well organized. It was a pleasure getting to meet these guys face to face after so many months of chatting via the keyboard.
The weekend was a complete success and my wife and I really enjoyed ourselves. It was fun meeting so many fellow poker affiliates in person. Folks traveled from Australia, Vegas, Tennessee, Chicago and elsewhere for this get-together. We did some great networking, made some new friends and had a blast.
The only downer to the weekend was the long waits to get a seat at the poker tables. If you plan on playing poker at The Fallsview, get there early and put your name on the list right away.
Many thanks to 888.com and PAP for putting this informal little gathering together! I'm already looking forward to the next one!
